Autism Awareness Care & Training

Autism is a developmental disability that affects social interaction, communication skills and results in repetitive restrictive behaviors. Children and adults with autism typically have difficulties in verbal and non-verbal communication, group activities and games. Autism Awareness Care & Training (AACT) was formed to help children with autism and their families in Ghana to better understand the disorder and to feel that there is a safe place to go for support and help. Today the organization not only supports the parents and families but it also has become a centre for these children to receive quality education.

On the 28th of October 2010, FIRST CAPITAL PUS as part of its 1st Anniversary celebrations paid a visit to the New Horizon Special School to spend time with the children and also donate some learning aids.

New Horizon Special School, located in Accra, Ghana (West-Africa), is a day school geared to serve children and adults who are intellectually disabled. New Horizon Special School does not receive Government grant, but is funded by modest school fees, proceeds from the school shop, fund raising activities and donations from individuals and organizations and as such the school has serious financial challenges.

It is in view of this that FIRST CAPITAL PLUS made a donation of GH¢1000 to support the school. FIRST CAPITAL PLUS sees a beautiful life in each of these children and will not cease to support this cause

Korle-Bu Blood Bank

The Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital Blood Bank requires about 100,000 units of blood annually but it only receives just about 300 units, leaving a shortfall of about 99,700. Therefore the blood bank is under serious pressure and unable to effectively meet demand.

Since its inception in September 2009, First Capital Plus has organized three blood donation exercises on the 28th of October 2010, 20th of May, 2011 and the 27th of October, 2011. Blood donation will be an integral part of FCP’s impacting society programme and the company will organize quarterly blood donation exercises.

Convince a friend to donate and let’s save a life.
